As November ends and the cold weather picks up, it’s perfectly okay to spend your days wrapped in a warm cozy blanket dreaming of summer. Honestly, bears have this whole life thing figured out. Eat all day during the sunny part of the year and sleep through the crappy seasons.
Watch: Wildland
Filmed over one fire season, Wildland is a sweeping yet deeply personal account of a single wildland firefighting crew as they struggle with fear, loyalty, dreams, and demons. What emerges is a rich story of working-class men — their exterior world, their interior lives and the fire that lies between. A film by Alex Jablonski and Kahlil Hudson.” – wildlandfilm.com
Watch: Ice Grizzlies of the Yukon
This video is not new, but it was new to me and definitely worth a watch. It’s amazing the time and effort that goes into wildlife photography.
Read: A Walk in the Woods
Again, something not new to the world. Most would actually consider it a classic among the many books that center on Appalachian Trail. But I just started reading and I can see why this is such a beloved mix. A perfect mix of humor and history, and a true story to boot. “Bill Bryson is surely the most entertaining guide you’ll find. He introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other hardy (or just foolhardy) folks he meets along the way–and a couple of bears.” Click here to view the book on Amazon
Chad can be summed up by his idea of a perfect day: Waking up early to watch the sunrise over the mountains, warm cup of coffee in hand then grabbing his camera and fly rod, hitting the trail to explore some uncharted territory followed by cold beers and campfire steaks. Chad is often joined on his adventures by his wife, Tori, and their dog, Kona.
