Meglachori makes an excellent basecamp for exploring Santorini. Located on the West side of Santorini, it’s a stunningly picturesque enclave with whitewashed homes, winding lanes, and quaint roads, making it an idyllic destination for travelers searching for old-world sophistication. It’s less touristy and thus is way more affordable than other parts of the island. 

Enjoy a relaxing stroll along the cobblestone roads during your downtime, taking in all this traditional Greek village has to offer. Visit the old Venetian tower that stands proudly in the center of the town.

Oia: Unveiling the Charm Beyond the Hype

Oia, perched like a crown on Santorini’s cliffs, had us holding our breath. Would it live up to the endless postcards and gushing reviews? As we stepped out of the taxi, a symphony of whitewashed buildings unfolded before us, punctuated by iconic blue domes. And yes, it was even more breathtaking in person.

Wandering Beyond the Crowds:

Forget the tourist hamster wheel – ditch the main square and head right, towards the ancient castle ruins. Each twist of the narrow alleyway unveils a new postcard-worthy vista. Ignore the “Instagram influencer zones” where wannabe stars queue for the perfect shot. Venture down hidden stairways and cobbled lanes, and you’ll discover secret balconies whispering with the Aegean breeze, and panoramas that paint the horizon in shades of sapphire and turquoise.

Day 7: Aegean Adventures by the Boatload

Today, we’re ditching the beach and setting sail on a sunset cruise that’ll make even Poseidon jealous. Picture volcanic coves whispering secrets of ancient eruptions, the Aegean Sea shimmering like a mermaid’s sequin dress, and you sprawled across the deck like a sun-worshipping lizard.
